The fact Luger had the motor cycle accident and with the strict steroid testing in 93/94 contributed to him losing 40 lbs of muscle between his title run in WCW and the WWF run. That certainly did not help with his appearance nor did his athletic/strength based work style fit with the WWF product (Steiners, Vader, Road Warriors were in the same boat). Most of all, like Sid Vicious said, Luger was given a stupid stupid gmmick in WWF. His entrance music, his ring attire, his story lines all sucked.

Is there a way u can make the matches last a wile like a good 15 min matches?

From what I have heard it was suppose to be scripted because Bart Gunn was suppose to let dr. Death win. That’s why they sent butter bean in the best him then they fired him.

I think the problem was that JJ was simply never very over in WWF, WCW, or Impact. He was always viewed as second tier. There was too much wrassling content available elsewhere for an Impact knockoff to succeed. His attempt to be part of the Bullet Club was just sad, especially for the Bullet Club.

I have all 4 Toulon Retsuden games and tbh the first 3 are my favorite, if Toukon Retsuden had played like Smackdown! 2 know your role I would’ve loved it

The history of Smackdown vs RAW games

No we didn't get the wonderful Toukon resuden 3 game engine in WWF Smackdown, instead of getting a fun methodical somewhat realistic wrestling game, we got a boring simple arcade fighting game with a wrestling license. I will never understand the love of the original smackdown games. Limited front grapples(4 front grapples why? AKI games had at least 16), horrible move animations, bad hit collision, bad selling or lack there of, being unable to break up a move animations or stupidly being unable to break up submissions. Here Comes The Pain fixed the grapple move number , but it took them another game or two to implement breakable submissions. I bought the original WWF Smackdown when it came out, sold it after 2 weeks, bought an N64, Revenge, Wrestlemania 2000, and then No Mercy some time after, those were THE wrestling games to play, Smackdown games were merely fighting games with a wrestling license. Damn shame we never got a Toukon Retsuden 3 engine game in North America, Playstation could have used a more complete Japanese wrestler, Power Move was a basic game.

That poster of giant and hall was used on WCW Nitro the game. Maybe LIVE became Nitro.

Have you ever played Power Move Pro Wrestling on PS1? Its an American release of Toukon Retsuden via Activision but idk which version it is of the mainline Japanese series. It doesn't flow as quickly as WWF Smackdown! And uses a bootleg NJPW roster, but its not a bad glimpse into what couldve been WCW Live!
